Vernal History
Founded by: Rev J.B. and Carolyn Davis on July 4th, 2008.
Our first service was on July 6, 2008, marking Bro. J.B. Davis’s fifth mission church in his 40-year ministry. He pastored from July 4, 2008, until September 2011, when Bro. Brandon Davis was unanimously voted in as pastor.
The first sanctuary was a 24 x 40 office trailer with restrooms and a nursery, connected to a 12 x 40 single-wide trailer serving as a fellowship hall and Sunday School room. In fall 2012, construction began on a 50 x 125 building with a 50 x 50 sanctuary, 40 x 40 fellowship hall, and 20 x 50 Sunday School department. This building is still in use, though the sanctuary has since been converted into a children’s church and divided into classrooms and offices. The project cost $300,000, with $225,000 borrowed and paid off within five years.
In May 2018, a new sanctuary was completed along with a 20 x 60 connector building featuring new restrooms, a covered driveway, and renovations to the old sanctuary for children’s church and offices/MPACT rooms, costing $425,000.
Construction on the current sanctuary began in 2023, and the first service was held the first Sunday of July 2024. The old sanctuary now serves as the fellowship hall, with plans underway to renovate it for a youth room and nursery complex.
